The 8 of Diamonds coordinate
Martha Graham was born May 11, 1894 (1894-05-11). Month 5 and day 11 give solar value 34, which is the 8 of Diamonds (The Businessman). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day). The year 1894 is unused, so Martha Graham's 1894 birth year does not move the card. Graham was born in Allegheny City, later to become part of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1894. Her father, George Graham, was an "alienist", a practitioner of an early form of psychiatry. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Martha Graham, and not a forecast of an honor.
