Günter Blobel's Birth Card: The Jack of Clubs
The Creative Messenger
A birth card is a calendar coordinate for the month and day. It is not fortune-telling and does not predict a Nobel Prize.
In the record
Günter Blobel (May 21, 1936 – February 18, 2018) was a Silesian German and American biologist and 1999 Nobel Prize laureate in Physiology for the discovery that proteins have intrinsic signals that govern their transport and localization in the cell. The birth-card coordinate for May 21 is the Jack of Clubs — a calendar position, not a forecast of the 1999 Physiology or Medicine prize.

No one else in this set holds the 1999 Physiology or Medicine prize; Günter Blobel appears here as its sole listed laureate. The award was divided; this laureate's listed portion is 1.
226 other Physiology or Medicine laureates in this set carry a birth-card coordinate.
The Jack of Clubs coordinate
Günter Blobel's birthday maps to the Jack of Clubs (The Creative Messenger). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day), and the year is unused. It is not a prediction about a Nobel Prize and not a verdict on Günter Blobel. The card's own language, quoted as system copy rather than biography: You bring a new angle and you let someone pressure-test it before it ships.
Günter Blobel in the public record
Günter Blobel was born in Waltersdorf in the Prussian Province of Lower Silesia, then located in eastern Germany. In January 1945 his family fled from native Silesia to Dresden to escape from the advancing Red Army. During the bombing of Dresden, Blobel, then 8, stayed with his family at a relative's farm to the west of the city. After the war, Blobel grew up and attended gymnasium in the Saxon town of Freiberg. He studied medicine and graduated from the University of Tübingen in 1960. After two years service in a medical internship, he moved to Madison, Wisconsin, following an older brother, enrolling in the University of Wisconsin–Madison and, joining the lab of Van R. Potter for his graduate work. Blobel matriculated in 1967 with a Ph.D.

Where the record meets the 10 of Hearts
A card is a calendar coordinate, not a cause. What follows sets one line of the card's own published language beside one sentence of the sourced record, paired by a documented rule. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Günter Blobel, and not a forecast of a Nobel Prize.
