Oliver Smithies's Birth Card: The 7 of Clubs
The Analytical Creator
A birth card is a calendar coordinate for the month and day. It is not fortune-telling and does not predict a Nobel Prize.
In the record
Oliver Smithies (23 June 1925 – 10 January 2017) was a British-American geneticist and physical biochemist. The birth-card coordinate for June 23 is the 7 of Clubs — a calendar position, not a forecast of the 2007 Physiology or Medicine prize.

2007 — The Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine
“for their discoveries of principles for introducing specific gene modifications in mice by the use of embryonic stem cells”
Shared with Mario R. Capecchi (3♦), Sir Martin J. Evans (K♠). The award was divided; this laureate's listed portion is 1/3.

The 7 of Clubs coordinate
Oliver Smithies's birthday maps to the 7 of Clubs (The Analytical Creator). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day), and the year is unused. It is not a prediction about a Nobel Prize and not a verdict on Oliver Smithies. The card's own language, quoted as system copy rather than biography: You take a claim apart until the usable piece is left, then you use it.
Oliver Smithies in the public record
He is known for introducing starch as a medium for gel electrophoresis in 1955, and for the discovery, simultaneously with Mario Capecchi and Martin Evans, of the technique of homologous recombination of transgenic DNA with genomic DNA, a much more reliable method of altering animal genomes than previously used, and the technique behind gene targeting and knockout mice. He received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2007 for his genetics work. Smithies was born in Halifax, West Yorkshire, England, to William Smithies and his wife Doris, née Sykes. His father sold life insurance policies and his mother taught English at Halifax Technical College. He had a twin brother and a younger sister. He attended a primary school in the nearby village of Copley and then went to Heath Grammar School in Halifax. He said that his love of science came from an early fascination with radios and telescopes. He attended Balliol College, Oxford on a Brackenbury Scholarship, initially reading medicine.

Where the record meets the Jack of Spades
A card is a calendar coordinate, not a cause. What follows sets one line of the card's own published language beside one sentence of the sourced record, paired by a documented rule. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Oliver Smithies, and not a forecast of a Nobel Prize.

Planetary ruling card, karma and Life Spread
Birth card from the month and day. Karma cards are fixed to the birth card. The planetary ruling card comes from the sun sign's ruling planet — the signs with two rulers carry two. The Life Spread is the birth card's fixed row of nine in the Life Spread — the cards that colour each 52-day period for life. Planetary period and long-range cards move year by year and are not shown on a static page.

FAQ
- What is Oliver Smithies's birth card?
- The 7 of Clubs. June 23 maps to that card through the public Card Blueprints formula. The year of birth is not used.
