Pierre Agostini's Birth Card: The 5 of Clubs
The Dynamic Innovator
A birth card is a calendar coordinate for the month and day. It is not fortune-telling and does not predict a Nobel Prize.
In the record
Pierre Agostini (born 23 July 1941) is a French experimental physicist and Emeritus professor at the Ohio State University in the United States, known for his pioneering work in strong-field laser physics and attosecond science. The birth-card coordinate for July 23 is the 5 of Clubs — a calendar position, not a forecast of the 2023 Physics prize.

“for experimental methods that generate attosecond pulses of light for the study of electron dynamics in matter”
Shared with Anne L’Huillier (10♣), Ferenc Krausz (2♦). The award was divided; this laureate's listed portion is 1/3.

The 5 of Clubs coordinate
Pierre Agostini's birthday maps to the 5 of Clubs (The Dynamic Innovator). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day), and the year is unused. It is not a prediction about a Nobel Prize and not a verdict on Pierre Agostini. The card's own language, quoted as system copy rather than biography: You pressure-test an idea in public and let the better one win.
Pierre Agostini in the public record
He is especially known for the observation of above-threshold ionization and the invention of the reconstruction of attosecond beating by interference of two-photon transitions (RABBITT) technique for characterization of attosecond light pulses. He was jointly awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics. Pierre Agostini was born in Tunis, in the French protectorate of Tunisia, in 1941. He obtained his baccalauréat at the Prytanée national militaire school in 1959 in La Flèche, France. Agostini studied physics at Aix-Marseille University, where he subsequently received a B.Ed. degree (licence d'enseignement) in physics in 1961, and an M.A.S. degree (diplôme d'études approfondies) in 1962. In 1968 he completed a doctoral degree there, on multilayer dielectric filters for the ultraviolet, titled Appareillage permettant la réalisation de filtres multidiélectriques UV : Étude des couches Sb2O3. After his doctorate, he became a researcher at CEA Saclay in 1969 and stayed there until 2002. During this time, Agostini worked in the lab of Gérard Mainfray and Claude Manus, where he researched on multiphoton ionization using the powerful lasers there.

Where the record meets the 5 of Hearts
A card is a calendar coordinate, not a cause. What follows sets one line of the card's own published language beside one sentence of the sourced record, paired by a documented rule. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Pierre Agostini, and not a forecast of a Nobel Prize.

Birth card from the month and day. Karma cards are fixed to the birth card. The planetary ruling card comes from the sun sign's ruling planet — the signs with two rulers carry two. The Life Spread is the birth card's fixed row of nine in the Life Spread — the cards that colour each 52-day period for life. Planetary period and long-range cards move year by year and are not shown on a static page.

- They are the first to observe above-threshold ionization in 1979 in xenon gas.
- In 2001, Agostini and his team at CEA Saclay along with Harm Geert Muller at the Dutch Foundation for Fundamental Research on Matter (FOM), using an advanced laser at the Laboratoire d'Optique Appliquée, managed to create a train of pulses each 250 attoseconds in duration.
- By recombining the ultrashort ultraviolet pulses with the original infrared light they created an interference effect that allowed him to characterize the length and repetition rate of the pulses.
- Agostini was a visiting scientist at the Brookhaven National Laboratory in the U.S. state of New York between 2002 and 2004, where he worked in Louis F.

FAQ
- What is Pierre Agostini's birth card?
- The 5 of Clubs. July 23 maps to that card through the public Card Blueprints formula. The year of birth is not used.
- Does a birth card predict a Nobel Prize?
- No. These pages are coordinates, not fortune-telling. A birth card names a calendar day in a 52-card year. It does not forecast prizes, character, or fate.
- Where do Pierre Agostini's dates come from?
- Birth date 1941-07-23 is the Nobel Prize API v2.1 day-precision date, verified against Wikidata P569 (CC0, day precision, Gregorian preferred). The two sources match. Year-only Nobel dates and Nobel↔Wikidata conflicts are dropped, not guessed. Page hooks and evidence come from the Wikipedia REST summary (CC BY-SA 4.0).
