Wilhelm Wien's Birth Card: The Ace of Spades

1911 Physics

Born January 13, 1864

Died August 30, 1928

The Truth Pioneer

A birth card is a calendar coordinate for the month and day. It is not fortune-telling and does not predict a Nobel Prize.

In the record

Wilhelm Carl Werner Otto Fritz Franz Wien (German: [ˈvɪlhɛlm ˈviːn] ; 13 January 1864 – 30 August 1928) was a German physicist who used theories about heat and electromagnetism to deduce Wien's displacement law, which calculates the emission of a blackbody at any temperature from the emission at any one reference temperature. The birth-card coordinate for January 13 is the Ace of Spades — a calendar position, not a forecast of the 1911 Physics prize.

No one else in this set holds the 1911 Physics prize; Wilhelm Wien appears here as its sole listed laureate. The award was divided; this laureate's listed portion is 1.

222 other Physics laureates in this set carry a birth-card coordinate.

The Ace of Spades coordinate

Wilhelm Wien's birthday maps to the Ace of Spades (The Truth Pioneer). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day), and the year is unused. It is not a prediction about a Nobel Prize and not a verdict on Wilhelm Wien. The card's own language, quoted as system copy rather than biography: You say the true thing early, before it has to become a crisis to be heard.

Wien also formulated an expression for the black-body radiation, which is correct in the photon-gas limit. His arguments were based on the notion of adiabatic invariance, and were instrumental for the formulation of quantum mechanics. Wien received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1911 for his work on heat radiation. He was a cousin of Max Wien, inventor of the Wien bridge. Wien was born on 13 January 1864 in Gaffken (now Parusnoye, Russia), Prussia, the son of landowner Carl Wien. In 1866, his family moved to Drachenstein (now Smokowo, Poland). In 1879, Wien went to school in Rastenburg (now Kętrzyn, Poland) and from 1880 to 1882 he attended the city school of Heidelberg. In 1882, he attended the University of Göttingen and the University of Berlin.

Where the record meets the 2 of Clubs

A card is a calendar coordinate, not a cause. What follows sets one line of the card's own published language beside one sentence of the sourced record, paired by a documented rule. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Wilhelm Wien, and not a forecast of a Nobel Prize.

Birth card from the month and day. Karma cards are fixed to the birth card. The planetary ruling card comes from the sun sign's ruling planet — the signs with two rulers carry two. The Life Spread is the birth card's fixed row of nine in the Life Spread — the cards that colour each 52-day period for life. Planetary period and long-range cards move year by year and are not shown on a static page.

Also on the record

  1. From 1883 to 1885, he worked in the laboratory of Hermann von Helmholtz and, in 1886, he received his Ph.D. with a thesis on the diffraction of light upon metals and on the influence of various materials upon the color of refracted light.
  2. From 1896 to 1899, Wien lectured at RWTH Aachen University.
  3. He became twice successor of Wilhelm Röntgen, in 1900 at the University of Würzburg and in 1920 at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
  4. Wien was very active in science politics representing conservative and nationalistic positions though being not as extreme as sharing the attitude of those going to develop the Deutsche Physik.

FAQ

What is Wilhelm Wien's birth card?
The Ace of Spades. January 13 maps to that card through the public Card Blueprints formula. The year of birth is not used.
Does a birth card predict a Nobel Prize?
No. These pages are coordinates, not fortune-telling. A birth card names a calendar day in a 52-card year. It does not forecast prizes, character, or fate.
Where do Wilhelm Wien's dates come from?
Birth date 1864-01-13 is the Nobel Prize API v2.1 day-precision date, verified against Wikidata P569 (CC0, day precision, Gregorian preferred). The two sources match. Year-only Nobel dates and Nobel↔Wikidata conflicts are dropped, not guessed. Page hooks and evidence come from the Wikipedia REST summary (CC BY-SA 4.0).
