LaChanze's Birth Card: The 2 of Clubs
The Collaborative Builder
A birth card is a calendar coordinate for the month and day. It is not fortune-telling and does not predict a Tony Award.
In the record
LaChanze Sapp-Gooding, known professionally as LaChanze (born December 16, 1961), is an American actress, theater producer, singer, and dancer. The birth-card coordinate for December 16 is the 2 of Clubs — a calendar position, not a forecast of the 2006 Best Actress in a Musical (The Color Purple) win.
Tony Award record (leading acting)
- 2006 Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical — The Color Purple as Celie Harris Johnson
The 2 of Clubs coordinate
LaChanze's birthday maps to the 2 of Clubs (The Collaborative Builder). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day), and the year is unused. It is not a prediction about a Tony Award and not a verdict on LaChanze. The card's own language, quoted as system copy rather than biography: You think with someone else and still leave the conversation with a position of your own.
LaChanze in the public record
She won a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Musical in 2006 for her role as Celie Harris Johnson in The Color Purple. LaChanze has subsequently received four more Tony Awards for co-producing Kimberly Akimbo, Topdog/Underdog, The Outsiders, and Purpose. LaChanze's first summer job was as a tap dancer in the ensemble of Uptown... It's Hot! at the Tropicana Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The show opened on Broadway in January 1986, where LaChanze began her professional career in the theater. LaChanze played the role of Ti Moune in the Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty musical Once on This Island in 1990 and received nominations for the Tony Award as Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical at the 45th Tony Awards and the Drama Desk Award as Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role in a Musical. In December 1998, she joined the cast of the Lynn Ahrens, Stephen Flaherty and Terrence McNally Broadway musical Ragtime, replacing Audra McDonald in the role of Sarah. She played the role of Viveca in the Playwrights Horizons Off-Broadway production of the musical The Bubbly Black Girl Sheds Her Chameleon Skin, which opened in June 2000.

Where the record meets the King of Hearts
A card is a calendar coordinate, not a cause. What follows sets one line of the card's own published language beside one sentence of the sourced record, paired by a documented rule. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about LaChanze, and not a forecast of a Tony.

You hold emotional authority without hiding behind it. You carry authority in the realm of feeling—the maturity and depth to lead others emotionally and hold space with real strength. At your best, you command emotional situations with both power and authentic care, the steady presence people anchor to.
