The 9 of Spades coordinate

Paul Hartman's birthday maps to the 9 of Spades (The Idealistic Mind). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day), and the year is unused. It is not a prediction about a Tony Award and not a verdict on Paul Hartman. The card's own language, quoted as system copy rather than biography: You complete the hard stretch and put the lesson down.

Paul Hartman in the public record

Born in San Francisco, Hartman was the son of Ferris Hartman, who was sometimes called the "Ziegfeld of the Pacific Coast" and actress Josie Hart. He began performing as a dancer with his sister when he was 4 years old. Hartman attended the University of California (UC). After he left there, he worked for a newspaper in San Francisco, beginning as a copy boy and later becoming a reporter. He left the newspaper for the theater because the latter offered more money. After graduating from UC, he worked "with a pick and shovel" as an employee of San Francisco in Golden Gate Park. In 1922, he teamed up with Grace Barrett for a dancing comedy vaudeville act that consisted of them both paying homage to and gently mocking the popular dances of the day, from ballet to swing. They married in 1923.

A card is a calendar coordinate, not a cause. What follows sets one line of the card's own published language beside one sentence of the sourced record, paired by a documented rule. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Paul Hartman, and not a forecast of a Tony.
