Gerhard Herzberg's Birth Card: The 6 of Hearts
The Devoted Caregiver
A birth card is a calendar coordinate for the month and day. It is not fortune-telling and does not predict a Nobel Prize.
In the record
Gerhard Heinrich Friedrich Otto Julius Herzberg, (German: [ˈɡeːɐ̯.haʁt ˈhɛʁt͡sˌbɛʁk] ; December 25, 1904 – March 3, 1999) was a German-Canadian pioneering physicist and physical chemist, who won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in 1971, "for his contributions to the knowledge of electronic structure and geometry of molecules, particularly free radicals". The birth-card coordinate for December 25 is the 6 of Hearts — a calendar position, not a forecast of the 1971 Chemistry prize.

No one else in this set holds the 1971 Chemistry prize; Gerhard Herzberg appears here as its sole listed laureate. The award was divided; this laureate's listed portion is 1.

The 6 of Hearts coordinate
Gerhard Herzberg's birthday maps to the 6 of Hearts (The Devoted Caregiver). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day), and the year is unused. It is not a prediction about a Nobel Prize and not a verdict on Gerhard Herzberg. The card's own language, quoted as system copy rather than biography: You care for people without disappearing. Help comes from a full plate, not an empty one.
Gerhard Herzberg in the public record
Herzberg's main work concerned atomic and molecular spectroscopy. He is well known for using these techniques that determine the structures of diatomic and polyatomic molecules, including free radicals which are difficult to investigate in any other way, and for the chemical analysis of astronomical objects. Herzberg served as Chancellor of Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada from 1973 to 1980. Herzberg was born in Hamburg, Germany on December 25, 1904, to Albin H. Herzberg and Ella Biber. He had an older brother, Walter, who was born in January 1904. Herzberg started Vorschule (pre-school) late, after contracting measles. Gerhard and his family were atheists and kept this fact hidden.

Where the record meets the 6 of Hearts
A card is a calendar coordinate, not a cause. What follows sets one line of the card's own published language beside one sentence of the sourced record, paired by a documented rule. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Gerhard Herzberg, and not a forecast of a Nobel Prize.

Birth card from the month and day. Karma cards are fixed to the birth card. The planetary ruling card comes from the sun sign's ruling planet — the signs with two rulers carry two. The Life Spread is the birth card's fixed row of nine in the Life Spread — the cards that colour each 52-day period for life. Planetary period and long-range cards move year by year and are not shown on a static page.

Initially, Herzberg considered a career in astronomy, but his application to the Hamburg Observatory was returned advising him not to pursue a career in the field without private financial support.
Paired on shared wording: career, without.

FAQ
- What is Gerhard Herzberg's birth card?
- The 6 of Hearts. December 25 maps to that card through the public Card Blueprints formula. The year of birth is not used.
- Does a birth card predict a Nobel Prize?
- No. These pages are coordinates, not fortune-telling. A birth card names a calendar day in a 52-card year. It does not forecast prizes, character, or fate.
- Where do Gerhard Herzberg's dates come from?
- Birth date 1904-12-25 is the Nobel Prize API v2.1 day-precision date, verified against Wikidata P569 (CC0, day precision, Gregorian preferred). The two sources match.
