Iain Percy's Birth Card: The 2 of Diamonds
The Financial Partner
A birth card is a calendar coordinate for the month and day. It is not fortune-telling and does not predict an Olympic medal.
In the record
Iain Bryden Percy (born 21 March 1976) is an English sailor and double Olympic champion for Great Britain. The birth-card coordinate for March 21 is the 2 of Diamonds — a calendar position, not a forecast of Iain Percy's 2 Summer Olympic gold medals in sailing.
Summer Olympic gold record
Wikidata records 2 Summer Olympic gold medals in sailing for United Kingdom across 2000 and 2008. Only Summer Games gold medals count here. Winter-only careers and single-gold athletes are out of this pack. The medal list is a public award record for Iain Percy (Q1655394), not a reading of character. 2000: gold in sailing at the 2000 Summer Olympics – Finn in sailing. 2008: gold in sailing at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Star class in sailing.
- 2000 sailing at the 2000 Summer Olympics – Finn (sailing)
- 2008 sailing at the 2008 Summer Olympics – Star class (sailing)
The 2 of Diamonds coordinate
Iain Percy was born March 21 (1976-03-21). Month 3 and day 21 give solar value 28, which is the 2 of Diamonds (The Financial Partner). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day). The year 1976 is unused. The 2 of Diamonds does not predict Olympic results and is not a verdict on Iain Percy for United Kingdom. Quoted system copy for the 2 of Diamonds, not a biography of Iain Percy: You name the exchange out loud and keep it fair for both sides. You understand value exchange and partnership in material terms. You're good at splitting bills, sharing assets, creating fair deals. Your mind works in reciprocity.
Iain Percy in the public record
Percy competed in the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where he won a gold medal in the Finn class. He memorably received his gold medal at a ceremony on the steps of the Sydney Opera House. He competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens and finished 6th in the double-handed Star class with Steve Mitchell. The same team received a bronze medal at the 2005 World Championships and a gold medal at the 2005 European Championships. Percy won World Bronze in the Star class with Andrew Simpson in 2007 and European Championship Gold in 2009. The duo won Gold in the same class of boat at the 2010 World Championships which took place in Brazil. With previous partner, Steve Mitchell, Percy won the 2002 Star World Championship in Los Angeles, and medalled in the next three world championships, winning the bronze medal in each of them. At the 2008 Olympics in Beijing he again won a gold medal, this time in the Star class, teaming up with Andrew Simpson.

Where the record meets the 8 of Spades
A card is a calendar coordinate, not a cause. What follows sets one line of the card's own published language beside one sentence of the sourced record, paired by a documented rule. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Iain Percy, and not a forecast of a gold medal.
