Summer Olympic gold record

Wikidata records 2 Summer Olympic gold medals in rowing for East Germany across 1976 and 1980. Only Summer Games gold medals count here. Winter-only careers and single-gold athletes are out of this pack. The medal list is a public award record for Jutta Lau (Q538401), not a reading of character. 1976: gold in rowing at the 1976 Summer Olympics – women's quadruple sculls in rowing. 1980: gold in rowing at the 1980 Summer Olympics – women's quadruple sculls in rowing.

The 9 of Hearts coordinate

Jutta Lau was born September 28 (1955-09-28). Month 9 and day 28 give solar value 9, which is the 9 of Hearts (The Compassionate Idealist). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day). The year 1955 is unused. The 9 of Hearts does not predict Olympic results and is not a verdict on Jutta Lau for East Germany. Quoted system copy for the 9 of Hearts, not a biography of Jutta Lau: You stay kind without picking up what is not yours. You're wired for a love that extends beyond the personal—compassion for people, causes, and the world. You feel others' pain as your own and are moved to ease it. At your best, you carry deep wisdom about what to hold and what to release.

Jutta Lau in the public record

She won the medals at the international rowing competitions. She retired from competitive rowing after the 1980 Summer Olympics and from September 1980, she worked as a rowing coach in Potsdam. She graduated with a diploma in physical education from the Deutsche Hochschule für Körperkultur (DHfK) in Leipzig in 1981. She later became the sculls trainer for the national women's team. She was thus responsible for preparing the sculls team for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, USA. Classification earlier in the year determined that Kathrin Boron was the strongest sculler, followed by Jana Thieme, Katrin Rutschow, and Kerstin Köppen. Guided by the principle that the strongest sculler should row in the singles, her preference was for Boron, but Boron preferred to row in the double or quad. Lau thus nominated Thieme for the single, Koppen and Boron would make the double, and Koppen, Boron, Rutschow and Jana Sorgers were to make up the quad.

Where the record meets the 3 of Clubs

A card is a calendar coordinate, not a cause. What follows sets one line of the card's own published language beside one sentence of the sourced record, paired by a documented rule. It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Jutta Lau, and not a forecast of a gold medal.

Also on the record

  1. Dr Ralf Kollmann, who as sports director was responsible for nominating the teams, rejected these teams and wanted rowers picked so that more clubs were represented.
  2. Germany's national rowing organisation (Deutscher Ruderverband) nominated Meike Evers for the single, and Thieme and Manuela Lutze, and for the quad the team recommended by Lau.
  3. Evers had come eighth or ninth in Lau's classification, and Lau predicted that Evers would not reach the A-final (she only made the C-final).
  4. Lau further predicted that the double would at best come fourth (they came fifth).
