The medal list is a public award record for Thomas Lange (Q683554), not a reading of character. 1988: gold in rowing at the 1988 Summer Olympics – men's single sculls in rowing. 1992: gold in rowing at the 1992 Summer Olympics – men's single sculls in rowing.

The Jack of Clubs coordinate

Thomas Lange was born February 27 (1964-02-27). Month 2 and day 27 give solar value 24, which is the Jack of Clubs (The Creative Messenger). Card Blueprints treats that as a 365-day coordinate: solar value = 55 − (2 × month + day). The year 1964 is unused. The Jack of Clubs does not predict Olympic results and is not a verdict on Thomas Lange for Germany. Quoted system copy for the Jack of Clubs, not a biography of Thomas Lange: You bring a new angle and stay long enough for someone to test it. You bring new thinking and inspiration. You're the one who shifts how people think about things. You have the gift of the "aha moment."

Thomas Lange in the public record

Lange is one of six rowers (along with Mahé Drysdale, Pertti Karppinen, Peter-Michael Kolbe, Ondřej Synek and Vyacheslav Ivanov) to win medals in the single sculls in three different Olympics. His first international appearance was at the 1980 World Rowing Junior Championships, where he won the gold medal in the double sculls (2x). He then went on to win the singles title in the next two Junior World Championships. He first competed at the senior level in 1983, and at the age of 19, won the double sculls at the World Rowing Championships with Uwe Heppner, which they repeated in 1985. Lange and Heppner would have been the favorites for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, but East Germany chose to boycott the games. In 1986, Lange changed to the single sculls. However, illness prevented him from competing that year. He recovered by 1987 and won his first World Championship in the single sculls besting Pertti Karppinen and Peter-Michael Kolbe who between then had won 10 of the previous 12 World and Olympic titles.

Where the record meets the 5 of Spades

It is a resemblance offered for the reader to weigh — not a claim about Thomas Lange, and not a forecast of a gold medal.
