Pluto and Result Cards in the Yearly Spread
One card names the year's hard question. The other names what answering it can build. You do not get to skip to the second one.

Direct answer
In a yearly spread, the Pluto card names the year's deep challenge: the pattern under pressure to transform. The Result card, sometimes called the Cosmic Reward, names what tends to show up when that challenge actually gets engaged. Read them as a pair. The work, and what the work builds.

The Pluto card as the year's question, asked repeatedly
In Cardology's vocabulary, Pluto means depth and transformation. The Pluto card marks where the year leans on you: an attachment, a habit, a role, a self-image that is overdue for renovation. You already have a guess.
It is often the least comfortable card in the spread. It is also the most useful to know early, because pressure with a name is easier to handle than pressure that shows up at 3am uninvited.
The Result card as the other side of the deal
The Result card describes the shape of what the year's work tends to produce. It is not a prize for good behavior. It is the pattern that opens up when the Pluto question gets honest attention instead of avoidance.
Read together, they keep each other honest. The challenge has a point. The reward has a price.
Keeping the pair grounded, and you too
Neither card books an event. A Pluto card does not promise a crisis. A Result card does not promise a prize. One is a question. The other is a direction. That is the whole contract.
The practical use is orientation. When the year gets hard in the Pluto card's territory, you have words for what might be asking to change, and a reason not to bail halfway.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Pluto card a bad omen?
No. It names the year's pressure to transform. Whether that pressure clarifies or grinds depends on how you meet it. The card does not get a vote on that part.
Do I automatically get the Result card's outcome?
No. The Result card describes what engaging the year's challenge tends to build. Ignore the challenge and the result does not show up. Nobody mails it to you.
Are Pluto and Result cards lifetime cards too?
The Life Spread carries lifetime versions of these positions. In a yearly spread they apply to that year only, and they change on your birthday. Along with everything else.
