Then read the period card as this chapter's angle on that same question, in the current planet's arena. The question does not change. The room does. It sounds one way in Venus's relational season and another way in Saturn's structural one.
When the layers agree and when they argue like roommates
Sometimes the cards rhyme. A change-oriented year card meets a change-oriented period card. The season's job is obvious. Do it.
Sometimes they pull in opposite directions: a stability year card sitting on top of a disruptive period card. Do not blend them into soup. Hold both. Something is being stabilized. Something is being shaken. Usually those are not the same thing, even if they share your apartment.

Neither. Nobody wins. The Long Range card names the year's standing theme. The period card names the current chapter. When they seem to fight, it usually means two different things are true in two different arenas. That is annoying, not wrong.
Should I add the daily card as a third layer?
Only once the two main layers feel natural. Extra layers add noise faster than they add insight. You do not need a third tab open.
How often should I re-read the combination?
At each period boundary, roughly every 52 days. Mid-period re-reads rarely change anything except your patience, and you do not have much to spare.
