When Does Your Cardology Year Begin?
January 1 means nothing here. Your cards turn over on your birthday. Put the confetti down.

Your Cardology year begins on your birthday. It runs until the day before the next one. Every yearly timing layer resets on that date: the seven 52-day periods, the Long Range card, the yearly spread itself. The calendar year has no say. It never did.

The yearly spread comes from your age. Your age changes on your birthday. So the birthday is the hinge. Last year's cards clock out. A new set clocks in. No overlap, no farewell tour.
The birthday itself is often treated as day zero. A threshold day that belongs to neither year. The Mercury period starts the day after. Spend day zero however you want.
What resets and what does not, for the record
The whole timing layer resets. Period cards. Long Range card. Pluto and Result cards. Environment and displacement for the year. All of it, replaced.
The structural layer never resets. Your birth card, ruling card and Life Spread positions are fixed for life. Timing moves across the structure. It does not replace it. You are still you, just on a new page.
Practical consequences nobody mentions
Reading feels stale? Check the date. Your birthday may have passed while you kept reading last year's spread. It happens more than anyone admits.
It also means late-December babies are not special and January feels like nothing. The system only cares about one date. Yours. Rude to everyone else, honestly.

Do my cards change on January 1?
No. Every yearly card changes on your birthday. The calendar new year has no standing in Cardology timing. Make resolutions anyway, if you enjoy quitting in February.
What if my birthday falls mid-period by the calendar?
It cannot. Periods are counted from your birthday. The first period always opens your year and the seventh always closes it. The calendar does not get a vote.
Does my birth card ever change?
Never. Only the timing layers turn over each year. The birth card is fixed by month and day. You are stuck with it. Affectionately.
